Howard of Garden Graft did a mentoring session with me last autumn to show me how to prune my two apple trees. He was very thorough and showed me different techniques and pointed out potential safety hazards. This was extremely helpful as I now have the confidence to attempt the pruning on my own. Both trees are looking much healthier this spring so I will keep up the good work as Howard has taught me.
He is also helping me plan the new vegetable patches at the bottom of my garden. It’s great to have a knowledgeable person like him available to help streamline the process and to avoid mistakes.

I had the pleasure of seeing Howard at the weekend to discuss how he could help me with the replanting of a small semi-circular space in my garden at the front of the house where it has always been a bit of a problem area, partly because the soil is so poor and partly because it is so arid. We spent some time talking about what colours and type of plants I would envisage seeing there and Howard was able to guide me to make choices that would not only look amazing but would be practical. I would consider myself a reasonable gardener, but my work schedule is such that I am too busy to think about, let alone tackle even a small project such as this and it is reassuring to know that after our two hour free consultation I learnt that Howard’s skills and experience will mean I can leave the task to him without a single worry.
